Sam Fenner is a Worcestershire based artist who specializes in acrylic painting. She studied General Art & Design at Hereford College, Life Drawing at Worcester School of Art & Design, and Art History to degree level.
Sam produces work of a variety of subject matter but is best known for her eye-catching, beguiling animal paintings; a collection of eccentric animal portraits oozing with life and character, skilfully painted against a backdrop of vivid colour, and injected with the artist’s quirky sense of fun and humour.
“The Quirky Animal Series began in 2010 with a private commission on a huge canvas entitled ‘Mad Cow’, my brief being a close-up of a quirky cow almost kissing the canvas with a bright green background … and so this mad menagerie began. My motivation for the series is kept alive by people’s happy responses to the paintings. Oddly enough, there is no bigger compliment than seeing someone smile or hearing someone chuckle when looking at my work! I’m also comforted and somewhat relieved that there are other people out there who seem to share my sense of quirky humour …”
Sam continues to exhibit very successfully in and around the UK and sells to collectors worldwide.
